Proposed rules for WFS

Most forums i have been on have rules in this section. One that is wonderful is that no one can comment on another persons for sale post. They handle everythig through PM...

Here is why

1. It stops people from taking advantage of the bumping system. Which i know is a problem here for sure

2. It cuts out all of the useless info, negative comments, opinions about value, fights, drama, etc.

3. People typically only send a pm if they are really interested.

4. It limits the need for moderation dramatically

We're all guests here, some longer than others..

My thoughts are why don't you sit back, relax, and
take notes..

I guarantee you'll pick up some good habits
by paying attention to some of the Senior members..

Or you can continue on a certain path, and we all know how that ends..

I agree with Snowmon, but you may have missed the sticky that at the top discussed this. However, I would agree that moderation of these rules are a bit light.

That would solve just about everything, I agree 100% w/ the OP! But, that would be too easy, this forum loves complications! :)

I love the comments... By restricting comments, you're cutting off the flow of immeasurable knowledge and information.

Even the simple "nice cue" or "great wood" type of comments help you to get a sense of what products, makers, woods, designs, and such are hot, trendy, of high quality, and in-demand.

I don't care about your opinion on my reaction to being disrespected. I have been selling things on forums for years. I know from talking to many members i have known a long time that you guys have many problems here, many of which can be fixed by my suggestion.

If you would like to offer your thoughts on that, great! Can you stay on subject or is that just too much to ask of some AZ members? This is 2 threads in a row

Thanks to those who are on subject

im not sure what the rules are in the 'for sale' forum, but me personally...i think people should be able to post opinions in regards to value and authenticity...as long as it is done in a tactful manner.

I personally like it the way that it is. That way if someone asks a question that others are wondering then the OP can respond and everyone will get the answer they are looking for. I also value the opinions of others in regards to how they feel about a cue.

In my humble opinion, if you don't like the way this forum is being handled then feel free to start your very own Billiard forum and run it the exact way you would like to see it done.

Nobody is requiring you to stay active in this group so feel free to move on.

i was trying to help you out
it's too bad you couldn't stay on subject..

Good grief guys! Look at the top of the Wanted/For Sale main page and you'll see:

Sticky: Forum Rules
Jerry Forsyth

Could it be more clear where to find the rules?

New user/member and IMO Like to see some of the comments, they do give me a feel for peoples opinions of cues, builders, sellers, and sometimes other useful info. What I don't care to see posted are people wasting space complaining about rule breakers. Pos. Comments Good. Some Neg. Com. Are helpful. Winey comments always Bad. Simple!
