There are over a million players who are shooting 8-ball and 9-ball on bar tables every week in both leagues and other locations. This is not true for the 9-foot tables. Youtube matches on bar tables are an excellent training tool...the break, the patterns and the strategy. Thank you Pros. Keep playing on the bar tables and keep helping the "Average Joe".

The pros are the ones that probably need to be thinking the bar tables. Therr was a period of time not that long ago when pools was literally dead.

The only thing that kept it going was tavern pool and the bar tables. I always kind of assumed they would sort of be a bridge to maybe another resurgence of regular billiard rooms with 9 ft tables and all that.

I don't know that that's really happened yet or is going to happen. Pool may just reach a point that that's what it is, but they'll always be bar tables and always be a place to go play.

There is not really a connection for pro events and players and league play on the small tables. The Pros will play on whatever equipment the tournaments provide since there is no pro tour for them to play in. Actual pro events on 7 footers is like the NBA using a half court park playground to play on, when there was a pro tour, it was all 9 footers. It's not like they are going "hey I have this major event on a 9 footer with a 200,000 prize and some place in Virginia with a 10,000 prize on 7 footers but league players need to see me play so I'll go play on the 7 footers". It's more like "I have no place to play for a living so will be going to the event on 7 footer since there is one".
