In support of the notion of a dedicated break cue, I figure the primary advantages for one are the same you get from having your own playing cue - weight & balance that you like best, which lead to familiarity & consistency. Sure, you can break with a house cue, and many do it well, but from one day to the next or one location to the next you are not going to break with the same house cue. They all hit different, some good, some bad, but that dedicated break cue that you carry with you won't give you any surprises. I figure that alone is worth the price of admission...and then there's how fun they are to bust a rack with.
