Purple Heart Shaft??

I've noticed that some cuemakers have the option of getting a purple heart shaft, and I was wondering how these shafts are. How do they hit and play, especially compared to the usual maple shafts we normally see.

PH Shaft

I use them on my break cues, I'm sure that you could use them to play with. They are a little heavier than maple, also they are more rigid than maple when tapered the same. That's the reason I use them on the break cues. I'm sure others will "weigh" in on this subject.
I hope this info helps,

I also have one on my break cue, but I wouldn't use it on my play cue. The open grain characteristic of PH is just too rough for me, and too stiff for a play shaft.

I have 3 P/H shafts, made by BHQ. I use the breaker alot, also the custom jumper, the player i dont really care for, but i also have a maple shaft for it so alls good. My P/H breaker just explodes the balls with min effort which i need at 62 yrs. the jumper is amazing most that have used it love it. It will take some getting used to for sure. not only the feel of the shafts hit but the color messed with me for a lil bit. anyways thats my experience.
