Purpleheart shafts

A friend of mine is a cuemaker, and he made a break cue made out of all purpleheart, including the butt. It hits very solid, but I don't know if it was because of the tip or the cue. The tip was a pressed non layered, but I dont know the name of it. I liked it, but I didn't like the feeling of the balance, it felt "sluggish" for some reason.
 
i recently purchased a purpleheart j/b cue from BHQ. it has a purpleheart shaft with it as well. its a little hard to explain purpleheart shafts. to me, they feel much more dense and dont seem to have near the flexibility as maple shafts do. i would further describe it as having a crisper hit, but that also has alot to do with the tip/ferrule setup. hope this helps. i'd also like to mention that i like my jump/break so much that i ordered another one from Brent Hartman (BHQ)
 
I just purchased a BHQ jump cue with Purple Heart shaft, I really like the looks and feel of the shaft, liked it so much I've ordered a playing cue with a Purple Heart shaft. The shaft also work on one of my other cues so it can be used for a break cue, and it has a very solid hit and seems to let me have a little bit more cue ball control on the break while still making a great break.

i think thats how its spelled.he's in the chattanooga area and uses purpleheart on some of his break cues.i've broke with them and would seriously consider one if i was in the market for a break cue.
