Purpose Built Cues: Jump, Break, Masse

Just looking for opinions on these. Seems like players use Jump and Break purpose built cues, but not masse much. Currently masse is not a big part of the pro game like it is for trick shooters.

So my question is this:
What makes a jump cue jump? Could the short butt be used with a different shaft for masse?

I have this idea that a heavy 23 oz break cue with a super stiff 13.5 - 14mm(tip dia) shaft with a medium-hard tip, might make a good masse combination.

Also, a more standard 13 - 13.5mm stiff shaft with a phenolic or hard leather tip on the masse butt might make a good jump cue.

Or, am I better off with a break/jump cue with 2 shafts for 2 different tip hardnesses to cover masse, jumping and breaking. I could go the 3 cue route, but I would probably just use my player for masse as it does pretty well.

A jump butt is made to reduce weight, while a proper masse butt has increased weight (a full 30oz). It doesn't make sense to try to combine the two unless you're trying to do jump-masses or some nonsense. Also, masse shafts are ultra stiff, made from carbon fiber or kelvar. Such materials are very expensive.

But anyway, the main reason why players dont carry masse cues is simply due to the fact that masse shots are unreliable. A light swerve shot is very useful in game, but a standard cue is more than sufficient for these. A full blown masse is very rare, and with good reason. They just arent practical, as they're too hard to control. The jump shot is clearly a more reliable alternative.
