Python Wrap

Hi,
I recently received a cue that has a Python Wrap.
I do not care for the feel of the skin and it seems that the scales will come off as well.
Is there something I can use to coat the wrap such as a varnish or lacquer?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Your python wrap should have been professionally sealed and clear coated just like the rest of the cue should have been. It will wear out in a hurry if you do not have it clear coated. It is probably not a do it yourself project.

Thanks Cueman

Thanks for your reply.
The cue is the one I win in AZB November gold give-a-way.
Do you think it is possible for me to do it myself with some spray on automotive clear coat ?

If you have to ask someone that, then the answer is "probably not". At least, probably not well enough to do the cue justice.

Applying the finish is one of the hardest things to master in cuemaking. So my answer is yes almost anything is possible. But the likelihood of you doing a fantastic job first try is very low, but not impossible.

Just send it to Chris for a refinish. He has probably done more snakeskin wraps than anyone in this country. His prices are not bad and he's one of the nicest people you will ever deal with. Oh and in case I forgot, he does damn good work!
