Q-skills

Well today I decided to out the Q-skills test.

I went grabbed a 9ft GC4. And played.

After the first couple of racks, I was averaging about 7 or 8 points per rack. Which got me to thinking that If I keep this up, I'm shooting at basically a the semi-pro to pro level lol.

Now I did two 10 rack sets tonight and came out with scores of 78points and 76points for both sets.

Obviously if I kept this up for all 10 sessions, I'd be shooting some where between semi-pro and Pro lol. Which makes no sence cuz, I am no where near a semi-pro level.

The one thing I didnt like about the test is, if you combo the 9ball early in the rack, you still have to run out the rack. Which is sometimes a penalty cuz the original OB ball could end up down table without a shot, even though you won the game.

Also, if you miss a shot your not really penalized cuz you lose a point, but gain the point right back after potting the missed ball. Which unlike playing the ghost, if you miss, you loose the game.

I personally think playing the Ghost is more of a test in skill than the Q-skills.

I believe that (5) sets is what you would gauge your score from, and not 10. Therefore, an average of 80 * 5 Sets = 400. Therefore, you would be scored as an advanced player since your scores were slightly under the average of 80 that I used.

OK, I guess I should have said, that by shooting scores of 78 and 76. After two 10game sessions, If I was to average 60 or 70 points for every 10games I am playing, then I am shooting somewhere between Developing Pro and PRo.

And it takes 10sessions comprised of ten racks each (100 racks total) to determine your rating.

Obviously I've only done 2 sessions, but if i was to keep scoring like this, I'd be somewhere between developing pro and pro. Which seems to be a bit outa my skill level. Or Atleast I think its above my actuall skill level.

I should be able to get the rest of the Q-skill sessions done by atleast the end of next week. Then I can give out my scores.

Assuming we are playing the same game, I think this is the problem.

Ten racks comprise a session. In one session you can score a maximum of 200 points. The score from FIVE SESSIONS (50 racks) determines your Official Rating. The highest possible Official Rating is a perfect score of 1000 points.

The 100 rack thing, and the combo the 9, etc leads me to believe that hotrod can't be referring to the Hopkins Q skills test.
