Q Slick alternative

Best i have found is meguiars ultimate quik wax. Also, im pretty sure q silk is just an overpriced, rebranded hair care product that is available at most stores in a big bottle. Even smells the same. (Might be Q silk and not slick)

The bottle I bought hardened and turned into this gelatinous goo after only a few weeks in the cabinet. Completely sealed up. No air got to it. Total waste of cash, imo.
 
I, also, use Mother's Carnauba car wax.

Put it on thick,
let it dry for 1 hr. +
Buff it off with clean terrycloth towel
stroke it 3 times on the Talc cone.
{once or twice a year.}
 
Do a search, I think it was said that it is a hair product. Was some years back.
 
I do this once a year:
  1. 600 grit sandpaper to your cue and ferrule
  2. then a thin magic eraser sheet
  3. then finally use the green side of a Q-Wiz to finish
  4. burnish (light brown leather side) with Q-Wiz (optional step)
I do steps 2 and 3 more than once a year to clean up the shaft after almost daily play. Many positive comments on feel and condition from other players when they occasionally shoot a few shots with my cues. Never have waxed a shaft and never have had to wipe it down or use a glove during play or between tuning clean ups...

I bought 4 or 5 bottles in 2013, and only finished the last one yesterday with no problems. Maybe they changed the recipe.

Thread 'Looking for CueSilk alternative - Biosilk?'

Hey all.. I heard that CueSilk is just a Dimethiconol/Cyclomethicone based haircare product, massively marked up, and some people have suggested "BioSilk" as an alternative, that has the same basic ingredients..

Can someone advise me on exactly "which" BioSilk product we are talking about here? I see a lot of BioSilk products here in Germany on Amazon, and there are serums, shampoo, conditioners, etc. Now.. I assume it's NOT either a shampoo or conditioner, so maybe "BioSilk Silk Therapy Original Serum"?

I haven't used CueSilk in something like 15-20 years, but the one thing I remember...

There are many good things that can be said about Q-Whiz . . . the only bad is that it could be a little bit larger. Every so often, I wash and dry mine.
