QATAR WORLD CUP 10 BALL, OCT. 28 to NOV. 2, 2025

These qualifiers do bring good money to cover prize money of $450K
128 players each pay $600 entry about $77K

The first 4 slots for the Qatar World Cup 10 Ball Qualifiers were taken by 4 Pinoys. They are:

🇵🇭 Mark Estiola
🇵🇭 Assis Tadique
🇵🇭 Oliver Villafuerte
🇵🇭 Kyle Amoroto

Amoroto suspended by mysterious PRA, the so called pool authority of Matchroom . Wonder what is role of PRA now that MR and WPA have kissed and made up. And WPA not caving in to MR demand that the silly lopsided MR rankings replace the WPA rankings

I remember when I was a kid, the best player in the Philippines back then was Boy Bicol. He was suspected of throwing a big money match. People found him the following day covered in newspapers, dead on the side of the road.

Draw for Stage 2 (main event). Starts tomorrow 28 Oct. All times Qatar time 7 hrs ahead of Eastern

good player but it's gonna take years re-build integrity and trust, especially living in the internet age
If I am not mistaken, Amoroto was the next big Filipino phenom M was promoting while Manas was still in diapers.
Now M is belatedly promoting arguably the most famous pool player on social media 16 year old JB. Not as talented as AJ in pool but a natural entertainer, charismatic not boring like Manas

THE QATAR 10-BALL OPEN starts in a few hours — and it brings the THIRD STRONGEST FIELD of the past year.
Quite an accomplishment for an event brought by neither Matchroom nor Predator Pro Billiard Series.
It’s organized instead by the Qatar Billiard & Snooker Federation under WPA sanction — and they’ve managed to attract nearly the entire world elite.

BRUTAL QUALIFIERS
The final 16 of the 128-player field were filled over the past four days through FOUR SINGLE-ELIMINATION QUALIFIERS (128 players each).
Among players rated over 800 who qualified:
PHILIPPINES — Jonas Magpantay (820), Jundel Mazon (816), Oliver Villafuerte (815), Edwin Gamas (813), Kyle Amoroto (805), Jeffrey De Luna (804)
CHINA — Jin-Hu Dang (821)
RUSSIA — Ruslan Chinakhov (805)
JAPAN — Hayato Hijikata (805)
INDONESIA — 17-year-old Albert Januarta (804)
CYPRUS — former snooker player Michael Georgiou (802)
Back-in-action OMAR AL SHAHEEN (KWT) as well as RAYMUND FARAON (PHL) and JESSON MARABI (PHL) notably failed to qualify.

WHO IS MISSING?
Key top players from the year’s strongest field (World Pool Championships) not present here include
KO PIN YI, KO PING CHUNG, ALOYSIUS YAPP, and ANTON RAGA.

WHO IS ADDED?
Strong players not in the World Pool field include EVERY ONE of the above-mentioned qualifiers.
The chart below shows where the QATAR 10-BALL OPEN ranks by HARMONIC FIELD STRENGTH (HFS-64) this year —
NUMBER THREE overall, behind only the World 9-Ball and the U.S. Open 9-Ball.

Jeffrey De Luna deserves to win a major tournament because of his hard work.
