QMD3 device for stroke improvement

Just received this device about 10 days ago. It is an amazing little device. It contains Bluetooth to the Ipad or your phone. It is different from the Digicue Blue in that it shows your stroke UP TO contact with the cue ball. I use both every morning. This one will show your stroke in side view, top view, roll of the tip, back view, tempo, and contact with the cue ball. Each session you can monitor any number of strokes and go back through each one. Then there are metrics that show the shots and it's average. Here is the website: http://www.cue-md.com/files/user_guide_qmd3.pdf

Please, if your not interested in any stroke devices please find another thread to post in. This thread is for pool players that want to get better and not worried about spending money to make it happen.

No offense but last i checked this is an OPEN forum. You don't get to open threads and then dictate as to who can/can't respond. Not everyone is into electronic training aids and their take is just as valid as anybody else's. If you just want a bunch of sycophants for all things electronic you might want to start your own site. BTW, my non-use of this stuff has nothing to with cost. Have zero interest. Glad it works for you.

I'm trying to post things that might help other pool players. This device might be one of those. I don't understand the negative posts, but it's up to you and others. My last response to the negative.

its a cool device with the visuals it gives you.
whether you can fix the flaws is another story

Unfortunately there are always those the must be negative in life. If a person mainly post negative here likely to find that is their personality.
I have no issues with someone that has tried something given first hand input. Agree just my opinion. But it’s amazing when having never tried it they feel their opinion should be heard even if asked not to reply.
For sale section states no criticizing or negative opinions. To bad that didn’t apply to closed topics.
Returning to topic. Having not tried the blue version I have no opinion input. Older version I tried went by to fast to figure out where things where within the stroke.

You can instantly fix the faults of the QMD3. Once you stroke, your Ipad will show you the stroke. You can see the top view, side view, tip roll, back view and contact on the cue ball from where you were aiming. For example: if you rolled the cue stick 3 degrees to the left on your backswing and then rolled it back to 3 degrees to the right on the forward stroke, all of this is visible. On the next stroke roll a little to the right on the backstroke and a little on the left on the forward stroke. This correction will be shown on the next stroke. You can improve because you can see the stroke. Or, if the cue stick butt moved left on the backstroke, you can see it. Fix it on the next stroke. It's great device.

i dont want to side track your thread
my issue was what felt straight was not
and tryng to force being "off" to be straight on line did not feel natural

I think he was trying to keep the thread focused, and eliminate the inevitable "that's a gimmick you don't need it" type of responses that really don't pertain to the conversation.

I've been using the Digicue Blue since before it came out. I like it a lot and find it really helps tune up my stroke, and quickly. Ingraining the feeling of a very straight stroke in my mind and my muscle memory helps me a lot.

I would indeed be interested in trying out the QMD device to see how it compares.

I need clarification. When you use the word "roll" do you mean tip steer? The word roll does not show up on my digicue blue. It will say tip steer left or tip steer right. I think tip steer right means that the butt of the cue shifted a little left at impact and tip steer left means the butt of the cue moved slightly right during impact. Straightness seems an impossibility to achieve. I find follow through numbers improve if you also incorporate a nice "pause" in the backstroke.

No, cue stick roll would be indicated with the QMD3 device. Not the Digicue Blue.

But maybe it is better for people to hear all sides of the story, not just the 'gee whiz' side. OP is obviously taken with technological approaches to improvement. I don't think anyone would criticize just that.

But when it becomes: everyone who takes a different approach just doesn't want to know the truth, or is just too cheap to buy one, then there will be pushback - and OP doesn't like that.

And frankly, his description to bbb of how the device tells you how to fix your stroke is ludicrous. If you detect a problem, band-aiding it rather that finding out and correcting the fundamental flaw causing the problem (which is what I understood bbb to be asking) doesn't seem like a good path to improvement.

I bought the original qmd and did not find it useful. It couldn't even tell me how many times I shot, in a given session.

Is there a link to their website?

The link posted is for a pdf user manual.

Thank you.

I think he was referring to QMD as in the OP. QMD also measures rotation clock or counter clockwise of the cue. As in wrist rotation or twist.

That must be the earlier version years ago. The newest one works in every way it's supposed to.

Or one could call Steve at 219-924-4008. He did mention a super sale in March.
