IPT Announcement- Dates, Locations, and Event Information for 2006 Tour Card Qualifying Tournaments

There are eight open positions for the 2006 IPT Tour Season. To fill those eight spots, the IPT is hosting four qualification tournaments throughout the United States. The top two finishers in each of these events will win a 2006 IPT Tour Card. No matter how many players enter each tournament, two players will earn their tour cards. Dates and locations for these events are listed at www.internationalpooltour.com

The entry fee for each tournament is $2000. Each tournament will be a Double-Elimination competition with races to ten. The Two players from each tournament who will win tour cards will be the winner of the winning side and the winner of the losing side of the brackets. IPT Rules, which can be read on line, govern each tournament. There is very limited space at each event so entries are based on a first-come, first-served basis. Players should not miss this chance to play on the IPT tour by failing to register in time. On line registration is the only way to enter these events and the form is on the IPT web site www.internationalpooltour.com. Absolutely no entries will be allowed at the tournament; no money will be accepted at the events.

What is a 2006 IPT Tour Card worth? So far in 2005 after just two events and, the IPT awarded historic and unprecedented prize payouts and hosted the largest paying tournament (2005 King of the Hill) in the history of billiards. IPT members in 2006 will be playing in a minimum of four events and over $8 million in prize money. Each IPT member is guaranteed at least $13,000 in prize earnings, even if they don't win a single match. IPT Members in 2006 are also going to receive monies from IPT profit sharing which has the potential to be in the tens of thousands of dollars. In addition, the top 100 ranked players from the 2006 season automatically get to play in the 2007 season. Fifty other players must go through the grueling qualification tournament to win a 2007 tour card. Every 2007 IPT Member is guaranteed a minimum of $100,000. It is going to be much easier to be in the top 100 of the 2006 season (and win the 2007 tour card) than it will be to qualify for the 2007 IPT season through competition, so being on the tour in 2006 is quite advantageous.

By visiting www.internationalpooltour.com players can choose to register for one or more qualifying tournaments. If a player chooses to enter more than one event, he will be charged for each tournament. However, if a player happens to win a spot on the tour, he will be refunded any entry fee money paid for a later qualification tournament. Once a player enters on line, he will receive an emailed receipt. Shortly thereafter, IPT staff will contact the player by telephone in addition to email which will contain all of the information players will need to know about the venues, dates, times, etc.

I asked several questions regarding these and other tounraments sometime ago in another thread but I think we're all still waiting for info. Obviously there is much to organise but if you read this Deno please can u respond to the other thread or at least in the Q & A section of the IPT site?

I have had a few PM's from other people regarding these questions and the lack of response so Im sure you would be helping many AZ members by supplying this info.

Thanks in advance

Am I the only one that see's a problem with the way they want players to sign up? Just about any player that plays for a living is lucky to have a place to sleep much less a credit card. I bet there are going to be alot of pissed off players at the DCC when they find out they had to sign up online ahead of time.

I don't know if anyone has bothered to say this but KT wake up this online registration crap is just retarded your missing out on tons of great players by doing things this way. By missing out on players your also losing out on money, and we all know how much you love money.

Before everyone jumps me I'd like to say I would like this tour to be as great as KT thinks it will be, but I don't see it if things keep being run like they are now.

$2000 per event !

Places are limited? 16? 32? 96? hmmmm ! $2000 for each long shot.

I hope you all got sponsors with deep pockets !

Will the qualifiers be slow napcloth too, or what will the playing conditions be?

This is absolutely not having a dig, but is the ipt site a secure site where using your credit card details are concerned? Using the net I understand can be fraught with danger.

qualifier payouts

deno, how many people are going to be in each qualifier, and what are, if any, are the payouts going to be???

this information would be helpful to a lot of people who are on the bubble about signing up for the tournaments

You are not the only one who thinks this. It is a huge concern of many.

I voiced the same thing when I found out how they accepted applications and the criteria used to pick the players. There are a ton of players that do not have internet access.... SOOOO many players were not even aware of the IPT until the US Open where there's a huge gathering of people in the industry. A lot of players rushed to find someone with a computer (I know JAM & myself both filled out applications for players). In the end, it didn't matter because KT wanted people that were excited and applied early. People can't get excited and apply early if they don't know about it. I haven't read the requirements on how to enter the qualifier but the one saving grace is that ATM cards can be used as credit cards. Once a player finds out that they must enter online, they can at least open an account with the $2000 and then use their ATM card to enter.

Only 12 days left to sign up for the first qualifier.

Anybody can go to their local library and use the computer there. Just set up an account with hotmail or yahoo.

Anybody who says they didn't know about the IPT are living in their own little world and should check up on their so called friends who failed to inform them and quit blaming KT for their own stupidity.
