Quarter Pitching

quarters

Danny Greer.. Probably the best .25 pitcher in the world...

Heard he will play anyone in the world golf with a tennis racket and a putter.

We pitch here in Texas quite a bit. There was a black gentelman from Austin, his name escapes me, but he would throw into the juke box @ Erics and play a selection. Totally sick!

I find even more unbelievable that poker player (Jesus something) who slices carrots with a playing card. I've seen that video and if he can do that I have no problem believing people can throw quarters into a pay phone slot, though in this day and age they might have difficulty finding a pay phone slot.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. It's very impressive.

Ricky Jay (an astounding card-trick master) also does some pretty cool ones. He can throw a card from 15 feet and make it stick into the outside of a watermelon. He also does one where he throws a card and makes it boomerang back to him, and while it's in flight, he'll pick up a pair of scissors with his throwing hand and cut the card in half on its way back past him.

Pretty crazy. I also found this article captivating. If you don't have time to read the whole thing, start at "I'm always saying there's no correlation between gambling and magic." What follows is a description of a trick that must be truly awesome to see in person. My mom took my dad to one of his shows as a birthday present, and my dad got picked to be the volunteer from the audience who sat right next to Ricky as he did several tricks. My dad says they looked just as magical 24" under his nose as from 20 feet away. None of his techniques were perceptible, even sitting at his right hand.

Gary Bright

Does anyone have any stories on Gary Bright? According to Buddy Hall in his biography, Bright had no peer when it came to coin lagging!

Well you weren't lying when you said it was long... and I didn't finish it, I hate reading online. However, I got far enough to read
"...the embodiment of what a magician should be not a performer who requires a fully equipped stage, elaborate apparatus, elephants, or handcuffs to accomplish his mysteries, but one who can stand a few inches from you and with a borrowed coin, a lemon, a knife, a tumbler, or a pack of cards convince you he performs miracles..."
Boy do I agree with that, I'm not very interested in big apparatus magic, but I could watch guys like Ricky Jay and David Blaine until my eyes fall out. The really create the illusion that it really is magic.
I guess this isn't very pool related, but neither is the rest of the content of this thread.
Thanks for the link.

As stated earlier....Danny Greer will give anyone the 8 and the break when it comes to quarter pitching! Just be careful not to back him in a pool game though.....
