I saw that Jennifer Barretta has been announced as a participant in this years AM.com Queens Cup competition. Since it is now just under a month away I was curious as to who else is on the team.

I noticed that this press release make mention of the men’s competition, the Mosconi Cup, in a thinly veiled way that could lead some to think that this was connected to that competition. I also noticed that there was no mention of who else is on the teams.

A search of Dragon promotions web site, AM.com, general google etc. did not make me any wiser. Anyone know who else is in this event.

By the way, congratulations to Ms. Barretta for being chosen.

They're probably spreading out the announcements to get in the news more times. PR, PR, PR, ...

I just hope all the girls get their own rooms in thier names. Don't allow Charlie to book the rooms and then have access to them all, that would be bad and not in anyone's best interests

You should try Flacebook. Jennifer Chen and Eunji Park have been named for the Asian team. Jennifer B. is the only Announcment for team West so far.

The whole staggered announcement style of Dragon is just off-putting but they do it with everything they produce. You will see the stupid announcing of round robin groups staggered, here is group 1, here is group 5, then a day later here is group 7, etc. Someone must have told them in a business class that approach is a way to build up excitement and interest and PR for the event. When it is really just irritating.:boring2:

Really enjoyed the 1st Queens cup few years ago. Quality of play and players were very high . Great camaraderie and girls enjoyed themselves . Actually I never got impression that it was women's event as the quality of play was very high
Except for Viv Violateal, those 2 teams then comprised of elite 1st tier world class players
This year's teams so far only have one 1st tier world class player in Rubilen Amit and really pale in comparison and are at least a few balls below previous teams.
They are probably trying to level the competition cos the East thrashed the West in previous cup. The players on East this year , Jennifer Chen and Park would struggle to get into 4th or 5th World team. Offhand there are at least dozen or more elite players who would wipe floor against players from both teams named except for Rubilen.
I would still watch but probably not whole event - I would watch glamor girls Ewa L, Jen B, Jen C

Isn't that same tactic that BB is also employing ? LOL

Another member has been announced for Team West: the Texas Tonado, Vivian Villareal.

So far that makes:

Team Asia:
Rubilen Amit (Capt)
Eunji Park
Jennifer Chen

Team West
Ewa Laurance (Capt
Jennifer Baretta
Vivian Villareal

One memeber left to be announced for each team. I'm predicting a mainland Chinese player, and a Euro currently living there.

Siming Chen makes her return to the Queens Cup as the final player for team Asia.

This should be a good event, with a nice mix of skills and experience.

Addition of Chen Siming will make Team East the favorite . West only has 1 elite in Karen Corr while East has 2 elites in Rubilen and Chen
Previous Team East had 4 elites while Team West had 3 and team East still thrashed West giving West less than 5 points in race to 10.
Team East is still favorite this year but it will be closer contest probably winning by margin of 2 to 4 points. :D
