Question about a case and selling one

Hey Guy's and Gal's out in AZ Billiards land, got a couple of questions that I hope someone can help me with.

1) I am looking for a good leather 4 x 8 case that can keep my cues safe and secure when I do travel to Las Vegas I don't usually go by plane, reason I ask is the current one I have does the job fine for when I am at league and at the pool hall but there has been a couple of times where I took out one of the shafts and there is a bunch of ding marks in it, there is a couple of tricks I know that get them out but it gets really frustrating after about the 6th time in 28 weeks of pool. I am not by any means a careless person when it comes to my cues, I just end up going back to the same question in my head it has to be the case. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

2) Second part to this, about 3 months ago I bought a 3 x 4 leather case that I thought it would do the job....450.00 dollars worth, anyhow I have come to find out that the case will not fit all of the stuff I have in my bag, especially when I put my jump cue butt into the separate pocket, so I came to the rather quick conclusion that I have to sell this one, so I need to know, how I go about selling it on AZ and doing it the right way. Pictures yes I know that one but I want to make sure I have all my t's crossed and i's dotted. So again I would appreciate any and all help.

Thanks again

JB Cases interior are the best I've seen as far as protecting cues go.

I use a soft case. I built a hard shell to put the soft case in for when I travel. Nothing goes in or out of the soft case, the contents doesn't change, I just slip the soft case in the hard shell and check it in as luggage or put it in the car or what ever method I'm traveling by and go. Keeps the cues nice and safe. When I get there I pull the case out and I'm ready to go.

..... or get a JB Ultimate Rugged. either way would work

What is the hard shell you built ? Do you have any pictures ?

The dings ? Are you sure the case caused the dings ? I am not careless, but a few small accidental drops, hard "leans" against the shelf, moving balls with the shaft, are the source of my dings.

It is pretty much established that the best cases are JB Cases. John Barton who established JB Cases was previously involved with Instroke. He left that company and in doing so took case quality and custom cases to the next level.

They can be made to your exact specifications in leather or nylon, with the nylon cases being available at bargain prices, but still receiving rave reviews. For example, you can get a 4x8 Ultimate Rugged for roughly $200, a great price. The leather cases are priced higher and their final cost is based on the design and complexity of the case.

The website is http://www.jbcases.com and is a bit crude but you will at least easily find an order form. According to recent reports they are jammed with orders, so if you decide on one, you should get in line quickly.

I own a vinyl Instroke 3x7 which is a fine case but for another $40 I should have bought a JB Ultimate Rugged.

Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in JB Cases, but I am in line for an Ultimate Rugged.

where do the rules say you need a price?? i don't think that is a rule. and i don't believe you need to list where you are from. i believe everthing you listed are suggestions, not rules.

Both my son and I use cheap under $100 cases, his was like $60 with shipping mine was probably $100 but I won it in a raffle here so cost me a fiver.

We have had maybe 6-8 different shafts in them over the years and never did I find a ding in any of them unless I knew one of us hit the shaft on the table or something before putting it away.

It would have to be one hell of a crappy case to cause dings and even then you'd have to toss them in sideways or have something poking out the sides of the interior to do that.

I would guess the dings are caused by leaning the cue against things when you play, hitting the rails, lights, etc... rather than the case. You just don't notice them till you take them out.

Price helps...

The OP clearly asked for any suggestions. I personally think pictures, price, and location are all great suggestions when trying to sell something.... Just my $.02...

Thanks for the suggestions on the selling part of the case, small issue, it would seem as I have found out not to many people are interested in the case I have to sell, at least the ones I have talk to I end up getting that look, (Is he crazy!) The case I am trying to sell is a J. Flowers tribute case made by Jiasen Cue cases, the company that JB helped, it has JB's interior but the leather work is all done by Jiasen, according to what I have read on the forums not to many people think to highly about Jiasen Cases.....List goes on and on. Do I know that am I have to going to price it down yup. Either way I appreciate all of the advice.

I had been thinking into JB Cases but always thought they were all way out of my price range. Oh yeah to the answer about the dings, you could be right, moving the rock with my cue, hitting lights and the ultimate lending it to someone on league nights, the current case I am using is a Predator Sport 4 x 8 case it is supposed to be a LE. The only slight problem with the case and it may be just me, is I cannot fit my jumper butt into any part of the case without it turning into an adventure to get it back if it gets to far down one of the sleeves.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think that Jiasen has an unfavorable reputation. The case should be good quality. Not sure what you are trying to get for it but it's worth every bit of $400-$500 imo. The only thing is that this particular one carries no US warranty. So that might be why some people are shying away from it.

And the interior is NOT a JB interior. It is entirely built by Jiasen and not quite the same as what we build, although close. Our interiors are branded to distinguish them from other case makers who use similar looking ones.

Many people forget that Jiasen started the "art" case genre with panoramic images tooled over the whole case with the Masterpiece Series in 2008.

Thank You Mr. Barton, I really appreciate your input. You are very right sir, the interior is not yours ( That was my mistake) it is very similar to yours and I understand you worked in conjunction with them as well, I do have to say though the interior is pretty damn close though, I used the test to see if my cues would fall out of the case when turned upside down and low and behold they did not fall out.

I thought if I priced the case between 350.00 to 375.00 because it had been used once it may have had more takers. The only way to know is if when I have a moment is to get pictures up. If I could ask your opinion Mr. Barton on what you think on the case it would be very appreciated. Besides having a custom case maker like yourself giving an opinion on the case gives that added approval.

Thanks again everyone for all of the suggestions and opinions, everything is very appreciated.

My opinion is given above. That should suffice. I would say the lack of a warranty is probably the bigger issue and not the quality level.
