Question about a "Gracie" cue

I just received a cue that I bought on eBay about a week ago. It is from the Philippines. Here's the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=110090225584&rd=1&rd=1

As you can see, it appears to be signed by "Royce Gracie." The description is inaccurate in several places: the cue weighs 18.0 oz., not 19.5 oz., the pin is described as "3/8 by 16," but it measures .306 inches (not the .375 inches that a 3/8 pin would measure) and looks to have abut 14 threads per inch instead of 16.

If anyone out there has a Gracie cue, does the signature look correct? Also, while the butt of the cue looks OK (the inlays look real, for example), the shaft wood looks cheap with a fair number of dark marks and lines. I'm thinking that Gracie cues would not have such a cheap looking shaft. Of course, I have only about $100 invested in the cue, so I won't be suicidal if it turns out to be a fake. Thanks in advance for any help with this one!

I think that there are 2 different gracie's selling cues on ebay... the 1 i sold to rotation which is unsigned is from the original gracie. she goes by the seller name of "graciecues" their quality is far superior to what you have described. i know that they sign there cues on the butt plate and not on the fore arm..and what i would call a true gracie would not go that cheap..........mike

Royce Gracie is a very famous martial artist from Brazil. His family invented Brazilian JuJitsu and started the Ultimated Fighting Championships. Is there another Royce Gracie who makes cues? I've never heard of him.

Mike, what you said sounds right on the money. When I wrote the seller about the cue, I asked, "By the way, I noticed in the pictures of the cue that it is signed "gracie." I have seen Gracie cues for sale on eBay before and wondered if the cue I bought is made by the same cue maker." The seller responded by saying, "Hello, There's is one imitator whose using my name. I think his based on Paranaque Philippines, he even got a website.
Anyway mine is the authenthic one :)
Anyway just try the cue:)"

When you said that the "real" Gracie does NOT sign his cues on the forearm, that pretty well cinches it. Thanks, Mike!
