Question about APA playoffs and joining new team

I have a question regarding APA 9ball..... if I quit one team and join a new one in the same house league for the new upcoming season, and both teams go to the playoffs, is there a rule that indicates which team i would play on for the playoffs, even tho a new season has started? .... thanks in advance!

If you just mean the regular season playoffs(division playoffs), you'll just play on whatever team you're on. If it's the "Cities" or "Tricup" style tournament, where you made it with one team, then joined another team and made it with them, too.. and stayed on both rosters.. then you're technically not supposed to be in the same room if you're on two teams that are playing each other.

I think I covered whatever you meant. :o

My understanding is that player can play on both teams, but if both of the teams play each other they cannot play at all.

Not sure if its a national rule or local bylaw, but here you have to have played at least six matches for a team in a given session in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs (for that team, obviously).

No doubt to stop people from bringing in ringers, among other reasons.

Lets just say you played on team A in session 1 and team b in session 2. If team A made the playoffs for session 1, you will be on their roster. You will *not* be on team b's roster if they also made the playoffs for session 1. Once the post season is over for session 1, you will no longer have anything to do with team a.

The only scenario in which you would play with team a again is if they qualifies for the LTC tournamnet in June. In this case, whoever is on their roster for the spring session would be the roster that plays in the LTC. So you could play with team a session1 (summer lets say), qualify for LTC, play session 2 (fall) with team b, then jump back onto team a for session 3 (spring). You would still be considered "original" as well.

Hope this helps,

It's the Spring roster that is used to for the LTC's or whatever you call them. Last paragraph on page 88 of the "Official Team Manual" describes your situation I believe.
