Was wondering if anyone remembers who owned the place back in 1985? I used to play there years ago and was trying remember the guy's name. Nothing important...just one of those things that's been bugging me.

Thanks

College billiards

I owned college billiards from around 1996-97 until 2004 or so.

I bought it from john Pinto. He was the 3rd owner I think and had owned it far a dozen years or so. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info but it turns out I was a bit confused. Turns out the place I used to play was The Billiard Tavern. And the gentleman's name I was trying to remember was Dick Megiveron.
When I was stationed at Camp Pendleton back in the '80s I used to drive down for the regular 9 ball tournaments there. A friend of mine, Linda Henshaw, who was dating Keith McCready at the time took me to the place the first time and after that I was hooked. I always enjoyed playing there but I was wise enough to stay out of those 9 ball tournaments. There were always some real players in those tournaments. Keith McCready, Jay Swanson and a host of others played those tournaments just about every week. (At least I think they were weekly tournaments. It's been almost 30 years)

Anyway appreciate the help.

I actually hired Dick McGivern. He came to Alaska for us. Lasted about 6 months if I remember. This was in late 80's or early 1990's.

He went to Washington State, opened a place called Red a Barn or something in the Olympia area? I think this is gave correct.

He passed away about 2008 to 2009 range - around May.

He was a pretty good guy and at times played pretty sporty.
