Question about cue weight/balance

I have a Mcdpred1, it came with a McDermott butt and 314-2 shaft brand new. It is 19oz but the rubber grip on the butt adds a little extra weight and it felt a little too heavy for me, so recently I've removed the weight bolt from the butt(there was only one in there) and now it's much lighter and feels better, but I'm wondering how this will affect my game. I have a mild grip, not too soft and not too hard, will the cue wobble more or less when I shoot? I played with it yesterday and couldn't notice a difference. But what are the advantages of a lighter cue or heavier cue?

OP... You are.doing it right. Lighter with forward weight is what I prefer. More positive contact with the bridge hand and the cue accelerates more readily to the desired speed. I am using a balance-rite mid-cue extension as well to put even more weight.up front and give me more stick.to use. I am a large person.... Feels right.

I prefer a lighter cues myself. My Predator was shipped with no weights at my request. It weighs 17.9 oz. I use a very light "v" grip. I mentally remove all tention from hand, wrist, forearm, bicep, but keep shoulder locked....and maintain that throughout the stroke. That will help remove that wobble you mentioned. Draw shots seem easier because of the ease of acceleration.

Thanks for the reply and input. I'm also considering purchasing the Uniloc Balance Rite extension, how're you liking yours so far and how long have you been playing with it?

Yeah I also feel it's easier to draw with the lighter cue, it's also easier for me to stroke through the ball better because of how light it is. What is a v grip?
