Hi, I hope someone can help me out regarding a cue that is listed on ebay. It is Item number: 3661753778. It is listed as an Joss from the 70s, but I never saw a pin on a Joss cue that looked the one that cue. The person claims to have contacted Bill Stroud, but I don't believe that is true. If anyone knows the answer please let me know.

OK - if it is an original Joss, it has been reworked. To me, the joint looks pretty new with a 3/8 X 10 pin and it looks like a real ivory joint. The rest of it definitely looks like an early Joss, but who knows for sure? Anyone buying this cue is taking a real gamble.

You would think the seller would have done a better job documenting the cue. Because he didn't, it makes me doubt the story as well.

I know Bill Stroud made some solid Ivory jointed cues early in his career, but that pin does not look like the 3/8 x 10 pin that Bill used. the rest of the cue looks like an early Joss, but I personally would not take the gamble on this cue. If I was going to purchase and older Joss or Joss West cue it would have to be from a reputable dealer in person.

Thanks guys,

I just wanted to get the same reaction as I originally had.
