I can feel a thud when striking the cue ball with above average speed (mainly when trying to do a long draw shot).
Cue specs are.
Butt: 14 5/8 ounces.
Shaft: 3 7/8 ounces. Shaft is a Z2
3/8x10 flat faced pin.
The butt of the cue can take up to a 4 inch weight bolt. With the 4 inch weight bolt installed the cue weighs about 20 ounces. I can still feel the thud with the 4 inch weight bolt installed.
With the cue set up above there is about a 3 1/4 inch air pocket in the butt of the cue because the weight bolt i am using is mainly for being able to screw the bumper on.
Things i have done to try and fix the problem include:
Changing the tip.
Checking for tightness of pin and weight bolt.
Trying other shafts (new and used) on my butt with the same thud result.
I took my Z2 and put it on another butt and it was just fine. No thud.
Any ideas?
Thanks.. Don
