Question about pool table slate.

Is it feasible to replace a 3 piece slate with a 1 piece slate on a 8 foot Connelly pool table? If so are there any cons to doing that? Thank you in advance for your responses.

A one piece slate won't play any better then a 3 piece slate.... IF the person setting it up knows what they are doing, and the slates were closely matched to begin with. You can assemble mis matched slate but it's harder and more time consuming.

There is really only one advantage to a 1 piece slate table... you can move the table around the room without disassembly. Think Valley bar box or Diamond one piece slate. You can flip them on their side and cart it out.

probably wouldnt even be able to find one
the one piece works on a diamond which never really gets disassembled
on any other it would be a head ache
Not to mention a one piece on most home tables will still need disassembly before moving. They are not put together to move that way. They will likely self destruct if you try it. Even a table as well made as a Gold Crown won't take that kind of moving without disassembly. They just aren't designed for it.
