Question about Showman Cues

How does one identify a John Showman cue if the "Showman" name is not indicated on the butt sleeve. I had heard something of an ingrained "S" on the top of the pin but is that true of all of them?

They are all marked on the joint screw and on the butt cap bolt since 1998 and the shaft brass since 2003 .
