Question about uni-lock...

I have a predator z unilock joint that does not catch but the 1 thread on the butt joint thread. The cue is an old Buddy Hall Lucassi....
I talked with Predator and they had no clue why it was not locking in totally....
I noticed the collar on the original shaft is about a 1/8-1/4 longer than the predators....
Anyone know why this is??

I can guess;

1. This is not the original shaft and the original may have had a longer pilot. I have seen a few cue like that.

2. Maybe the pin has come loose and turned further into the forearm.

Well #2 is what i was thinking because at 1st it fit snug but over time it has came to the present problem...
