Question about Viking Cue

A friend recently was given a Viking cue as payment for a debt. He doesn't know much about cues or pool and asked me if I could find out the value of the cue. In the Blue Book of Pool cues, it is very similar to a Level 4 VM4. It is a nice cue and the inlays look to be ivory all trimmed in mother of pearl. It has a piloted stainless pin in the joint similar to a uni-lock but has more threads. It has two shafts one unplayed and the other shows no signs of chalk stains but has a well played tip.

On the butt it says Kyle Kleis 1998 Cue Design Winner. Sorry I don't have pictures.

Any information would be appreciated.

What you might have is a Viking Q8 ivory model.(1996)
Really need pic's before anyone can help..
I did a search of the name on the cue and the only thing I found was a Jr tourney player with that name ...

Bill,
I had also done a Google search and found the same link to a junior tourney. I doubt i'll be able to get pictures. I realize without pictures, it would be difficult.

I was hoping someone may know the significance of "1998 cue Design Winner".

It is a nice cue, cocobola butt with four floating points and lots of inlays.

I'll post pictures if I can get some.

Thanks,
Peter

The

Viking Q8 is a $1,100 cue. If you were to sell it, it would only bring
$700 to $900, depending what condition it is in.

More Information on Viking Cue

I was able to look at the cue again under magnification. It looks like the ivory and pearl are synthetic materials as the pearl has a man made silver sheen to it and I can see no grain in the ivory. It is a very nice cue in prisine condition. I would guess it may have been professionally cleaned as I mentioned one shaft has a well played tip but the wood is clear with no sign of chalk marks.

It may be for sale and I would be interested to know what a fair selling price would be.

Thanks,
Peter

Beautiful cue. I love Viking. When I win the lottery, I am going to buy the entire F-Series and then begin my search to collect every other Viking I can get my hands on.
