Question - Antique Pocket Irons

I went to look at a table tonight to give an estimate for work.

It's an old BBC table - either a Jefferson or St. Elmo (I can't tell because most of the table has been painted). Anyway, the table has No.5 pocket Irons. They were only used for a few years. The pockets on the table are probably original - 90 years old or older.

The customers would like new pockets, but the only solution I've found so far is paying someone an ungodly amount to re-wrap these Irons in new leather. Are these Irons interchangeable with Antique #6 Irons? These people really don't want to pay $400+ on just pockets.

Get in touch with Alex at Hood Leather Goods ,hoodleather.com . I believe they can rewrap those pockets for less than that.

I just got back the set for the Arcade table.
Hood did a great job for less than $250 shipped using the original irons.
New leathers, fringe, inside shields and boots. The ball side of the boots are
finished in the same color as the leathers.

If you call Alex you can get samples of the leather and fringe colors.
Only drawback is the color selection is somewhat limited.

Here's some pics of the Arcade pockets that Hood redid using the original irons.
The leather is Dark Walnut Avonzato, the fringe is their P51 which is tan with a wine ribbon

1 before and 2 afters.

Hood does very nice work and the new pocket look great.
The "before" pocket looks like it was nuked.
