Question for hard tip users

I just changed my tip, I wasn't sure what tip was on the cue because I bought it with that tip on it, I just knew it was not a layered tip and was hard. I heard a lot about Moori tips so I ordered a couple Moori mediums and took the cue to a guy to have the tip replaced. When he cut the old tip off I told him I'm not sure what is, but it's hard. He said it was a water buffalo, the hardest.

Early report on the Moori medium after about 30 racks is that I liked the water buffalo better which leads me to a couple of quesions.

Although I know it was a water buffalo tip, I obviously don't know what brand. All I know is it was black and stayed black throughout as he cut it off the ferrule. Who makes the most consistent hard water buffalo tips, and is there another hard tip that measures up to a hard water buffalo?

Thanks,
Al

I always have to laugh when I read stuff like this. Every tip from Tweeten's is made from Water Buffalo. This includes Elk Master, Triangle, and LePro. Apparently most tip repair people aren't aware of this.

FWIW, Talisman WB's are layered hard waterbuffalo tips. And, they're pretty consistent.

I use the Talisman water buffalo medium and it's notably harder than just about every other medium tip I've used. I love them, though; never gotten a bad one yet.

Thanks for the replies, this gives me an idea as to what direction to go.
