Question for the Cortland guys

I know guys are searching for old fishing line and almost never finding it.

I hope I’m not knocking anyone’s action, (probably just my own,) but there seems to be an endless supply of vintage wooden tennis racquets that are strung with cortland line.

Is this the same stuff that was being used for wraps?
