Question for those who love to Play Pool For Money

My idea of a money player is someone who is willing to play with their money.
It isn't the same pressure for someone to put up 1, or 2, or 3 thousand dollars if it won't hurt them that much to lose it. If I sit in on a match and put up 1, 2, or even 3 hundred dollars, I know that when or if I lose I wiil not make rent that motnh, or I will not be able to buy diapers for my child, or worse i will have to give him water instead of milk. Being able to play under that pressure (if you did at all (IDIOT) is being able to perorm under presure). Not free-balling because you are going to lose a bankroll and then you can sleep in a hotel 6 instead of a best-western. or your fat pocketed backer will lose his grease for the day.
I will play some of the best, if we are putting up nuts-to - nuts so to say.
100% of my monthly income to their 100%,
Don't chap my ass because you think I want 2-1 or 3-1, I just want us to hit it for the same stakes to each of us.

That is a money player in my mind..

PoolSleuth, I heard you say once you have 29 tables in your rec room. There's got to be some players. Does anyone ever match up on them?

My AZ field investigative assets tell me that due to the rampant rise of those dreaded tip jars at fast food joints, the residents can no longer afford to buy chalk. The financial downturn has caused the residents to give up playing. :D

If there were a top pro in my pool room willing to play sets for $50 or so, I'd gladly shell that out for the experience of playing a top pro, knowing 100% I was going to lose. Hell, that's cheaper than lessons!

i'll help ya get an experience at $34 a set. ;)

uh oh i've started the bidding war.... :D

I would still play the game but would not gamble.i dont have to play for money.I just love the game so much that I would play for the love of it.I want to win evry time I play but if I lose so be it I will try harder next time.I learn some thing every time I play and that is what I look forward to each and every time.I will not play the slots or the lotto, but ask me to play pool and im all over it.

Would you continue to Play Pool, if you KNEW 100% for Sure everyone you played today, tomarrow, etc., would beat you.

So you would never win any money again.

Two different questions: always losing v. never winning any money. If there's no money on the game, you can still win.

I play for the intrinsic pleasure of the game. What my opponent does with the balls doesn't matter to me. It's just me and the table. So yes, I'd keep playing even if I never won a game or nobody would bet with me.

Remember it's a question from PoolSleuth -- that's why it doesn't make any sense.

You're kidding, right?? You ain't got the nuts!

Pushout I see Zero Reason to Blow Hard Earn money on a Game of Chance. If I want to Gamble i wait for my annual trek to sin city.

I enjoy going to a Tournament of Pool once in a while, where the entry is 5-15 bucks. For a night Entertainment.

I am not into BETTING like my Step Son who is a Football Gambling Nut. He win, and wins. Because he is a Student of the Game of Football.

Maybe the be analogy I can say is you can enjoy a Beer, but you do not have to GET DRUNK to enjoy BEER.

pride

I never used like gambling but after the 3000 time somebody said if we were betting you would have choked or if you want to see my realllllllll game put up some money I ask every one to play for money.

I think it was Nick the Greek that said (and this may not be totally accurate):

The only thing in this world that comes close to gambling and winning,..... Is gambling and losing.:D

I guess it's the way you play pool that makes it a game of chance. As I've reminded many an astonished opponent,

"Luck is really skill that you have not yet acquired."

No I wouldnt play for money if I had no chance of winning.

I wouldnt gamble in Vegas at BlackJack, Craps or Slots either.

Think that is strange, does anyone actually think they will win the LOTTO?

Ken
Yes, I do, and when I do, all of my fellow AZ'ers will live a dream come true! Being able to play and work @ the same time in the enviroment we all love ! (why play the lotto if u think u dont stand a chance??)
