What are the advantages/disadvantages of a cue that has a metal bolt that inserts into a shaft with a bore with wooden threads? Won't the wooden threads wear out?

Thanks in advance for all serious responses.

I don't think there is an advantage, it's a different feel than a stainless to brass or other insert. It's all I've ever played with and haven't worn anythreads out. I have a 25 year old McDermott and it's threads look and feel fresh. Mostly personnel preference either the cuemakers or customers.
