Quick question. I have a custom cue, radial pin. Want to buy a predator 314-2 shaft to put on it. Only problem is that no one in my area stocks this things so i can try out to make sure it fits. Are all radial pins the same? I noticed online that it appears that predator only makes one that accepts radial pins. If I order one online do you think i would have any problem with it fitting? thanks much for your help !!

In answer to your question...no you shouldnt have a problem with fitment. Your cue maker would have got the radial pin from Uni-loc, and I am lead to believe that all shaft manufacturers that make radial thread in their shafts will make them to the most common radial, which is Uni-loc.

Hope this helps :)

P.S - Have you considered trying other LD shafts like OB1, McDermott I series, Cuetec R360, Tiger X etc?

Thanks much Monkey - Boy. Appreciate the feedback; I haven't considered any other because it seems all the research I've done points to the predator shafts, either 314-2 or Z2 as what most people think are the best. No way to tell but to get one and start shooting I guess. I'm fairly new here where i live so I don't know anyone with one. My one buddy is a real good shooter and he got a Z2 that he says is the sweetest thing he has every played with.

All cuemakers do not use the UniLoc Radial pin. There are other radial pins that are also quite common. You need to ask your cuemaker which one he used, or perhaps post a picture of your pin and some of the knowledgeable folks here can determine what you have.

I did say Im lead to believe that Uni-loc Radial is most common ;) Obviously, I dont know for certain.

I know that when a friend bought an OB1 shaft, the fitment was just like his standard shaft for his cue, his cue has a Uni-loc Radial joint.

Yes, save yourself the headaches and have your cue maker fit the shaft for you. You will get matching joint collars and the correct fitting. :thumbup2:

My only exception is Seybert's is fitting my Schon because they stock the correct joints and collars.

In some cases especially if you have ring work that is not like a black or black with silver ring. Just find a cuemaker or repairman and buy a partial shaft then have them make the shaft to fit your butt of your cue. ( of course they will need the butt of your cue to match )And then it will be exact for you. In most cases it will comeout to about the same price as you will have into the shaft anyhow. But at least you know it will be right from the start. I'd check with some cuemaker's or repairmen. <<ED
