Hello everyone. I was wondering about my kamui black supersoft tip. It's one of the new black tips, and it only has 2 1/2 layers before the dome, and I like it there. It's a lot harder than when it's new. When I go to get a new tip on my spare shafts so they match, do I need to get a black soft tip or a supersoft? I was just thinking that the soft tip I could get more life out of the tip. Thanks everyone.

Yes, go with a Kamui Black Soft Tip. There is less elasticity in the Black soft. You got the Kamui Black Super Soft down to 2 1/2 from the dome... You basically took out a lot of the elasticity.... Hence, Kamui Black Soft is fine.
Let me know how it works out.

I kind of have the opposite problem. I play the black soft tip, and I absolutely love it when it is first put on, but after it wears down I think it is a little too hard. I am thinking of trying the super soft so that when it is broken in, it is still a little more elastic than my wore down soft currently is. Does that sound right, or is it totally confusing?

I recently installed the super soft on my spare shaft and I hated it! I like a soft tip but that particular tip is just too damn soft! I couldn't shoot a power draw shot to save my life, but was able to execute it just fine with my other shaft with the Tiger Sniper soft tip. I'm going to have it taken off and replaced with something else, anything else but what I've got now. I have, however, heard great things about the the other Kamui tips.

You are correct... wearing the tip down will change the tip's elasticity. Are you using the Kamui Gator Grip? The Kamui tip should not wear down fast. If you are using an aggressive tool then you are hurting the integrity of the leather, and resulting in your current experience.

Give the Super Soft more time. You will maximize your experience with the tip if you come back 1/2 tip towards center of ball. Give it more practice. I also had the similar experience with the Super Soft... Once I understood that it was a different animal then I was very happy with it. Did you have the tip installed by an Authorized installer?
