Regardless of shaft technology, it's already a major difference between the 314 and the Lucasi Slim just because of taper and tip diameter.
Are you used to playing with skinny shafts? I use the Lucasi Slim on my main playing cue and I happen to really like it even though I still have the stock tip on it which is underwhelming (will get a Kamui Black S put on soon.)
Even though I'm used to skinny shafts, I can't deny that the thicker shaft of the 314 is more forgiving, I've found I need a longer warmup before competition and my performance is much more variable depending on how well I feel physically that day when I'm shooting a skinny shaft.
Note also that some people with certain styles of closed bridge may not like the Lucasi Slim, the taper is a near-pro taper for the first 6-7 inches then the taper rises gently. It happens not to interfere with my particular style closed bridge and stroke but I could see it not feeling so great for a lot of players.
Check out the Katana Bushido! Probably the best shaft I've ever owned, 11.5 mm tip, but then the shaft itself is a 12mm pro taper, so it's a little easier to stroke really well and hits much firmer than the Lucasi Slim. You can really juice up the cueball with a hard stroke with the Bushido and still keep good control, which is a challenge with other skinny shafts, even after months playing with the Lucasi Slim I don't have total confidence when I have to really fire a hard shot low on the cue ball like I did with the Bushido.
