I have read alot of these threads about KT, I know people who have worked with him, buying and selling data etc.

my question is did KT ever play pool? does he know how to hold a cue?

I believe he started his pool venture with the mind set of the internet gambling/poker sites being major sponsers and spending big $$ advertizing. The pool players and rail birds cross over with the internet gambling/poker sites and he intended to middle the deal, the internet guys didnt come through and KT said fvck-it, and stopped putting $$$ into it. Had it worked it would have been great, but he cut his losses and ran. Thats my opinion, he wasnt going to pay pool players millions of dollars from his own pockets because he likes to watch pool and to make sure he had a good seat at the events. I think he also thought he could generate $$ selling the show's to Fox sports in different markets etc. And didnt find any many interested buyers of his show, simpillly put he opened a business lost what he could stand and closed up shop. Its a shame I wis it would have caught on, had it caught it got any traction other's would have came in behind him. but now were stuck with ESPN and mitch laurance and stupid rule's and no real $$$ for the players. shame.

Yeah he can play if you watch the ipt instructional videos with siegel you can see him playing. He doesnt have a bad stroke.

Thx, i never saw the videos, just 15 minutes of a show thaqt was taped in New York New York in vegas as I remember, I thought something was fishy when there was no one in the audience

The concept was not only terrific but is being implemeted on the Euro Tour with live streaming and gambling.

Three things killed the IPT imo

1. KT lied from the begining about alot of things=HUGE mistake

2. Purses were too big to start=very FORGIVABLE error

3. Online gambling banned for no apparent reason=everyone gets SCREWED

I'm not defending KT, it might sound like I am but i'm not.

When you start a business (Ive started alot of them) you do have to lie some, like playing poker. Now if you lie too much then its bad, but if your 100% truthful in the beginning sometimes that isnt the best play. Now if you keep lieing or lie to much then its a real bad thing, I dont know enough about KT thing to judge it, but by the looks of it KT lied too much or something else went terribly wrong,

and your 100% right, the one tine I saw it on TV with the big $$$ he was talking about I thought it was too big. i was out of pool 100% when this all happened.

Like I said he had a plan to make $$$ it didnt work, he probably lied with good intentions(damage control) then it spiraled out of control. Its a shame I wish it would have worked for many reasons none of them would effect me directly. Pro players deserve to make a decent living and they dont, most of all, secondly it would have kindled interest into a great game thus filling up pool rooms making it good for the pool room owners, etc. it could have been sweet for alot of people and fun for others.


i still suspect the connection with online gambling is what started the whole thing and somewhere along the line there was a breakdown.

It was always about the gambling. This was a legit venture, as far as the lies, it's just in his nature

I'm not trying to defend him, it's just that now that all the dust has settled, it's easier to look at this thing a little more objectively

Yes he knows how to hold a cue and yes he's played pool.

Unfortunately he couldn't find it within himself to even leave such a simple truth as that untainted by his pathological compulsion to lie. After knocking some balls around the table in Las Vegas, in front of several highly experienced IPT players and other pool industry personnel, he calmly announced to a press interviewer that his personal best run was in excess of 200 balls, despite it being abundantly obvious to a one-eyed lobotomised moron that he would be very hard pressed to run 10.

Who knows, perhaps he even believed he was telling the truth......the cacophony of embarassed coughs and diverted eyes from everyone else certainly suggested that no-one else did.
