Hi guys,

I have started working with the GHOST, and would like to know what each level (D-Pro)should be able to do with the GHOST.

For instance, I was told that a C player should be able to beat the 4 Ball GOSHT 7 out of 10 times. What about the other levels???

I can't find a specific quote so I'll try to come up with it off the top of my head

Pro-Beats ghost everytime, probably be more fair playing 10 ball ghost
Shortstop-Beats the ghost almost everytime
A-Can beat the ghost more than 50% of the time
B-Can beat the ghost occassionally in a short race (10-20% of the time)
C-Might win a game occasionally
D-Can't win a game against the ghost

hmm, we have 2 types of ghost around here, both of which are 9 (or occasionally 10) -ball:

1. play as normal. i don't see a C player doing this more than 1/5 regularly (9ball).

2. break, take BIH, then as normal. C players should like a race to 3 of this...

i assume the standard definition is (1). in which case, mnShooter's list looks good (of course bar tables will alter %'s in an upward fashion).

in your post you refer to 4-ball ghost...wtf? i assume you're throwing 4 balls out and trying to run them from BIH...? i've never heard this type of drill referred to as 'ghost'.

Are you saying an A can beat the ghost in a race to 7 more than 50% of the time or are you saying game by game?

I can see a pro beating the ghost everytime in a race to 7 but not every single game. So are you basing this on a race to 7 as well?

OK so it is BIH after break right? So if I break and there are clusters that can't be broken up easily, it's just too bad?

Also, are 9-ball combos allowed against the ghost?

If there are clusters you have to break them up...lol. If the nine goes down on any legal shot you win.

What's/Who's the ghost?

Okay guess I need to learn how to read.
Efren-Can beat the 15 ball ghost
Pro-Can beat the 10 or 12 ball ghost
Shortstop-Can beat the 9 ball ghost handidly
A-Can beat the 9 ball ghost
B-Can beat the 6 ball ghost
C-Can beat the 3 ball ghost
D-Can't run three friggin balls

Assuming there taking ball in hand after every break right? As well I don't think an A Player will always beat the ghost in sets. I think they should the majority of the time which makes it a good bet, but there's days when the ghost'll getcha..

Incidentally I'm a B. Never tried the 6 Ball ghost but I'm going to try it when I get home. How do you rack it? Like a mini 8 ball rack is what I'm thinking?

I think a C should be able to beat a 4 ball ghost, at least. If you exclude people who've never held a cue, I think a D should win a set of 3 ball, with BIH after the break, against the ghost.

I gave the 6 ball ghost a try last night in a short race to 5 and although I didn't feel like I was shooting great I won. So I tried the 7 ball ghost today, two sets, and split. I probably need more sets to validate my overall play against the ghost but I would bet on myself against the 6 ball ghost and I am probably a strong C player. I have played the 9 ball ghost a few times and I win once in a while, but not frequently.
