Questions about your break

Since you are a nine ball goddess...*wink*

What cue do you break with? What weight is it? What type of tip and joint specifically? Where do you break from on the table? What english do you put on the cue if any?

I personally use a 19 ounce Sledgehammer and love it. I break from dead center table as far forward as I can and work my way to the right depending on how the table is rolling. I call this a "Buddy Hall" break. I watched him do it in a video and figure if it was good enough for him, it must be good enough for me. I try to use lower to middle english with a touch of right, just wanting the cue to stay on the right side, center table. I try to smack the 1 on the right side as well.

Thanks,
Shorty

Hi Shorty,

I break with a Barnhart jump/break cue. It is 18.5 oz. with a wood to wood joint and a medium Moori tip. I usually break from the right side off the rail or at the intersection of the first diamond on the short rail and the first diamond on the long rail. I try to hit center ball or a little bit below center. It is the break shot so it is not completely accurate every time.

I tried the a breaking with a Phenolic tip and ferrule and I didn't really like it. I think it has to do with hitting the balls hard or my mechanics. I know you don't have to hit the balls hard when using the phenolic tip...for some reason I feel like I am out of my rythym if I don't get the opportunity to break somewhat hard. Maybe breaking hard is my version of a power trip! :)

Take care,
Sarah

Hey thanks Sarah

Thanks for the reply...I will definately take some notes from that.

I am currently tweaking my setup and loving my cue, both playing and breaking.

Thanks again and hope we meet some day,
Chad

Shorty,

Good luck with everything. I hope what I told you helps. Remember, not the same thing works for everyone.

Take care,
Sarah
