I just got an NSK air spindle for my cnc, (55,000 RPM) and putting an inch and seven eighths three wing cutter on it is really scary. :( I might try a straight bit, can you get a smooth cut with them?
http://www.rockler.com/ecom7/product_details.cfm?&offerings_id=5724
does the above page have a bit that you would recommend trying?
Almost as smooth. But remember the bits are rated around 30,000 for safety purposes. Few router bits are rated for 55,000.

I'm looking for blanks or blank rods.
I will see if I can avail of the rods.
The inventor and his partner don't really like selling them anymore b/c some makers have been making and installing them the wrong ways.

How so? (Wrong ways?)
Does that mean, that i won't be able to install them my way? (Which is different than the norm, but still threaded and with solid cap.)

Don't tell me this, i would hate to have to find another ferrule, after finding the "perfect" one

Thanks,

Jon

No offense, but do you actually think i would post it? Or email it? Or send it in a bottle? No way... It's mine, and i'm working on something to make it even better... And then, it'll be sealed in my mental vault...

Thanks,

Jon

Some were making them thin-walled, uncapped and unthreaded so they were breaking.
One local maker here was hammering them in. Guess what happened to the ferrules.
