I read in BD that you have stuff on your wall for reminders, etc. I have the following modified quotes (mostly from internet) on the walls around my pool table. Each one is in large print on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper printed landscape. Do you have anything similar?

-Always cut if possible instead of banking.

-Amateurs practice until they can make a shot, pro's practice until they never miss a shot.

-To develop muscle memory new skills should be practiced twice daily, separated by more than 4 hours for at least 4 or 5 days.

-Stay down until the ball hits the pocket.

-The difference between an excellent pool player and the best pool player is very small. Any tiny advantage at that level becomes valuable.

Hi Billy Bob,

I'm glad I'm not the only lunatic! I have a pro pass from a tournament that I did poorly in with a big black X through it, and I have the badge from my best tournament right next to it. Every January I write down my goals for the year and post them on my wall, too. I have a little notebook that I carry and keep notes in to remember what I was thinking on days that I play really well. That book is filled with random thoughts, famous quotes and various shots and drills to work on. I do believe that keeping that kind of journal is helpful and inspiring, especially on those days when you know you should practice, but you don't feel like it.

My quotes

Don't eat yellow snow

Never play poker with a guy named after a city

Second place is the first loser

book learnin is for sissies

don't fart in a spacesuit

don't admit shit to the police

Never make out with a girl who is bigger then I am or who shaves more then I do.

These don't really make me shoot any better but every once in a while they make me laugh.

John I think the bigger problem is the time I spend on the other side of the bar.

I forgot to add

Never harm anything you can't kill.

This quote, or a similar one was on a tv show I watched last night.

It's a cool quote: You shouldn't wound what you can't kill.

Words to live by.

This is similar to another one I've heard (and used)....

"Winning isn't everything, but second sucks"

Many years ago a feller by the name of Bill Jordan, a US Border Patrol Officer, wrote a book about his career and about combat shooting. Mr. Jordan had been involved in numerous gunfights. The name of his book - "No Second Place Winner"

OK, Billy Bob, when you win the US Open, I get half for a copyright fee. :)
