I met Jack a couple times at SBE and he was always very nice. The year before covid hit I bought his Scruggs titlist that Tim made and traded Jack for a case. Jack was very nice and told me to give him my address and he would send me the TS sleeve that it came in. It was about a week after SBE and it came in the mail. My condolences to Jack's family.

Sad to hear this.
A friend of mine has a custom elephant ear case designed and built by Jack.
It is the nicest case I've ever seen.

Will Whitten be the only American case builder now?

It would be elephant leather from the body. Jack never made an elephant ear case. He did make 1 case for me out of elephant trunk. All elephant leather he used was top quality.

I could very well have remembered that detail incorrectly.
I do recall my buddy having to wait for an elephant to pass naturally before Jack could get the hide he needed.
