Rack girls? How does it work and profit?

Please excuse my ignorance. I have heard many fellow room owners suggest rack girls to increase revenue. Can anyone please help me understand exactly what their duties would be and how they will increase profit after their paid out for their time. I can feel the potential is there, but am completely ignorant about how to do it and not be too sleazy, plus profitable. I rarely ask for advice and feel pretty dumb about this question, but if it can help my poolroom and keep it's integrity I would be extremely grateful for all advice. Thanks in advance for your help. I think it's a waste of money. If y'all serve food/drinks, hire some personable servers, and make sure they actually work. I go to a few pool halls that employ pretty wait staff, but no one is talking about that. They're all complaining because no one takes their order or it takes too long to get it.
