Rack Inspection

I know we all like to look at a rack every chance we get...but I'm
talkin about pool here.

Typically I don't make a scene about the "rack inspection", but
instead I arrive at the table after my opponent has racked. Hand
shake, wish good luck etc....then I proceed to look at the rack while
I walk around the table. I have seen people look directly at the rack
and have people re-rack 2-5 times. Usually until the give-up and give
out the advantage of rack-your-own.

I just keep re-racking until they are satisfied... what do you guys do?

Against bad players never complain.
Against honest players never look.

Against all other good players, rack your own and the 9 on the break does not count as a win in the bottom two pockets. This is the best rule I have seen in a while. Even with rack your own the opponent argues that gaps between the back two and the 9 create an advantage to make the 9 in the bottom two pockets. If opponent racks, you argue about loose racks. Either way there is an arguement.

Rack your own is the best. I play a few friends that are good players and I always ask to rack your own because it is your responsibility to make sure you get a good rack.
