Charley Bond's book advertises the Sardo Tight Rack & The Master Rack. Are they any better than the plain old $3.50 plastic rack or the wood racks generally found in pool halls? If so, which one is best?

Evaluating various approaches to the break would be better with a consistent rack.

The two best racks I've found at pool halls are.....

2 1/4 hard plastic rack, i think it costs about 6$

the other is the Deluxe wood Triangle.

As for the Sardo, the only thing i dont like about it, is that it racks so good that making a ball on the break becomes too easy. Plus if you dont have new cloth or trained cloth, its not worth a damn lol.

I've never used the Master Rack, but who knows how well it works.

The racks i hate, are the flimsy acrylic racks, and the straight Triangle racks ( ie ) like the Diamond racks, only because when it gets hot, or if the balls are dirty, the balls stick to the rack. And the Acrylic racks just plain suck.
