Radial Pin Cuemakers

BTW.....Who is Murray Tucker I never heard of him ????????

Guess that says it all....................

Thanks............Paul

Holy crap are you serious? Murray, not to mention being a GREAT cuemaker, is one helluva great guy who was only trying to tell you that a pin, in and of itself, has no bearing on whether the cue will play well or not.
Why did you have such a hard time seeing that and feel the need to belittle him?

Maybe this link will help to show the kind of work Murray does...

Paul, if I read your posts correctly, it sounds like you're looking at Uniloc pins to have one represented in your cue collection/arsenal. Is that correct? If not, what's the reason?

Murray's point was that there are higher priorities for a good cue than the style of joint pin. My knowledge of woodworking stops at assembling Sauderwood bookshelves, but I feel confident in saying that if you had exactly identical twin cues with the only difference being that one had a Uniloc and the other had, for example, a 3/8 x 11, you would know the difference only by looking at the pins. As long as the pin is installed correctly, I'm fine.

The one major hardware concern I have is for the quality of shaft wood. Several years ago, a respected cuemaker posted on his Web site a letter from another respected cuemaker that discussed old "live cell" shaft wood versus newer "dead cell" shaft wood. I took that letter to heart. Unfortunately, I can't find it now.

Radial Pin Question

To those of you that have answered my post and have given me some cuemakers to check out I want to say THANK YOU !!!!!
To the Rest of you that continue to read into a persons reasons for there post and make it into something it's not, I say please do us all a favor and just do not comment at all...........You just make yourself look stupid when you assume the one who started the post does not have knowledge about the subject in the first place and feel the need to add information you feel is needed to justify your response.
I simply wanted some choices from some Azers who felt they could help.
That's all, nothing more........I did not ask for nor did I want a lesson on what makes a cue play well or ask about what a good guy a certain cuemaker is. If I offended anyone I do apoligize, this was not my intention.

Thanks..............Paul
