I'm tired of paying ridiculously overpriced radial drill taps, so I talked to a friend in Japan who works at a factory that machines drills and drill taps, to have an original radial tap made. He first said that it was very difficult to machine ball threads, but after several rounds of sampling we finally made one that seems to work great.
Samples are available in two types - HSSE and HSSE with TiCN coating. I’m not sure how much the TiCN coating helps in the long term, but I'm just experimenting at this point.
If anyone here is interested in trying these samples, I’m asking $15 for HSSE and $20 for HSSE-TiCN. 4 pieces each available.
I’m not trying to make a lot of money here, just hoping to get some feedback from more experienced cue makers.
