After disappearing from the pool scene and rumours of his death flying all over the place, I just saw on the IPT website that Rafael is listed as a player in the NA-17 qualifier.

Great news!

Hopefully this link works: http://internationalpooltour.com/ipt_content/event_qualifiers/NA_open_06/Online_coverage/NA17/default.asp

Edit: Wow, I just noticed that Rafael plays Justin Bergman first and then has to play Richie Richeson next if he wins. Tough way to start a comeback if he hasn't been competing lately. Still, he's one of the greatest talents I've ever seen and it wouldn't surprise me if he won a spot for Vegas.

Richie has a much better chance at 8-ball than 9-ball with Raffy if RM plays 9-ball anywhere near his former game.

Richeson might be the favorite in a one pocket match.

Having watched and played both of them one pocket...I'd clock a one pocket match between them as about a 'pick-it'....

....I'll tell you one thing for sure though, if they played...the sweaters won't be nodding off - there won't be much ducking goin' on - they will both be firing with both guns at their hole.

Raphael lost his first match to Justin Bergman.
