He played last week at a qualifier in TX. An AZB'er posted that he'd heard Rafael was alive a few months back- his buddy had seen him in Mexico or something.
I'm just glad he's alive and back playing pool. The fact that he didn't apply for an IPT card early made me think that maybe the rumours were true- a player of his caliber shouldn't have a problem getting accepted.
I hope he wins in OK and gets to play in Vegas. He played in a local open tourney in Nor Cal a few years ago and hung out for awhile. Real nice guy.
