Rail bolts re-drilled

On this 8 ft Dynamo, all of the bolt holes on one of the rails have been re-drilled about 1 bolt hole over. Any idea why some one would have done this? Will this complicate putting new rails on?

I have had problems with Dynamo in the past with the rail inserts not lining up with the holes in the rail. Perhaps the slate is shim too high not allowing them to line up.

Probably because someone tried replacing the rail with one that was incorrect for the table and took the easy way out by redrilling the bolt holes to match the rail. With the correct rails you should be able to use the original bolt holes in the table.

Before you order

Are you saying the holes are drilled to the side of the old holes... or above/below the old holes. Many of the older Dynamo rails are different from the newed ones and the valley rails. The table may have been redrilled to accept the newer style rail... that doesn't make it wrong... but if you order new rails you may end up with exactly what you've already got.

They are drilled to the side. Only on one rail though. The rest are not. They are drilled close enough that the old holes and new ones join and make oblong holes in that one rail.
