Rail spin effect due to side english - pool tables v snooker tables.

I've seen those shots playing snooker, somtimes you'll see a hard bank shot missed long, but then it will reverse and come 2 or 3 cushions back into the pocket. I don't think anyone would try to do something like that on purpose, though.

I agree - too many subtle variables / difficulty level to high.

I've seen (& done) a soft'ish / medium paced cross table bank shot playing snooker - missed it short - only to have it drop in on the other side pocket. (reverse spin *doesn't* seem to hold it up [off the 2nd rail] & make it miss short on the opposite pocket)

I *haven't* noticed this happening on my table much or at all - seems to be more reverse spin effect off my rails (and most pool tables maybe ?) compared to snooker tables. As someone said earlier - snooker rails are maybe a little more 'slippery' than pool rails ?

Hence my interest in knowing if the pic 2. shot can be / is as easy to make on a snooker table as it is on a pool table.

Cheers.
