I try to visit him as often as i can. The last time i did was about a week ago. His health has deteriorated. But he is still very passionate about his cues and his collection. Even though he has sold mosts of them. I was showing him my Jim Buss titlist and we talked mostly about the titlist collection that pass through his hands. But it was heart aching talking to him looking at his now really thin frame. I try to visit him as often as i can. For i am afraid i will not be able to do so for too many times now.

I have now received permission from MasterClass (Christopher) to publish the photograph and have moved the thread to the Main section:

Raist,
I have always admired your information for the short time I have been reading your posts. I also share your passion for titlist cues. I found there is little in life that means anything, except our word. Your word has always been strong. This quote is for you Raist:

The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply persues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both. -James A. Michener

Peace,
John

John,

As I'm sure you already know, the Tascarella Titlist that will be in your hands tomorrow came from Raist. The transaction and interchange with him couldn't have been more pleasant.

He will be in my prayers.

Hi all,

I was alerted to this thread by Simon and i am truely touched by all of you guys that has posted. Thanks Tate, u are lovely, as are Masterclass, bogey54311, Simon, Niki, JimboCt, JoeyA, Marcus and all the others too numerous to name. have really enjoyed the times i had here, at least its much different from many other forums where the prime concerns was just flaming each other.
Yeah i got diagnosed with bone cancer last march in 2005, and was already the later stages of the disease when it was discovered. The prognosis was to be 3-6 months unless i did a hemipelvectomy (sp?) which in laymen terms means taking off the whole left leg and the bum. Well no pool? not on your life i told the doctor, for someone who spends 8 hours in a pool hall everyday, i wouldnt be able to stand not playing pool less than a day!Remarkably, its been a long 15 months since and without any other medication (chemo) other than some alternative theraphies i read on the net, and of course carressing my precious titlist cues i have gone so far now. i wholly bedridden now lying on my stomach all the time and unable to hop to the computer terminal hence i havent been surfing as much internet as i could have done b4.
Anyway thanks for all the good times guys, but i wont be going off so soon yet as there are too many cues i havent lay my hands on... i still waiting for my Searing, Zylr and Southwest!!! :D :D

Best Regards
Raist

Glad to hear you are doing well, I once had an uncle who was daignosed with a liver disease, can't remember which one off the top of my head, well anyway he was given 2-4 months to live when he was only 35. He lived to his mid forties before dying of a heart attack. Go figure. You never know what the good lord holds in store for you. You might make it to a ripe old age fighting that disease for longer than you ever thought. You show tremendous heart and courage and those are the 2 things that you need to beat the odds. I have faith and will say a prayer for you. Beat 15 months. Beat 20. and then beat 3 yrs. I have faith and I hope I can speak for the rest of us when I say We ALL DO!!!!!!!!

All the best to you and your family during these rough times. I have not really been on this forum long but as you said it is mostly an upbeat crowd that gathers here with a great repore. You kindly helped me in my interest in titlist cues and i really like your quest for all things titlist. I have a similar interest in the vintage bike world collecting certain things and usually forgoing the rest.
Thanks Mr Titlist
