I managed to ask Ralph a couple of questions with many AZers present. One question I asked him point blank with several AZers present was : Which do you look at last? The cue ball or the object ball? To which he replied, "The cue ball".
Ralph was also kind enough to mention that he had recently responded to an email from an AZer who obviously has posted this information previously. I just thought like with journalists, it is a good idea to corroborate a story with more than one source.
BTW, Ralph has the best break in all of pool. He also happens to still use an X-Breaker for his break cue. The cue ball when breaking just kind of POPS up in the air and drifts back to the center of the table where Ralph typically is looking at 7 or fewer balls left to run out.
Brian Saleh was schooling me on breaking 8 ball but I think I am going to be working on my 9 ball game and straight pool from now on, at least for the next three months. One pocket? Fogetaboutit. It's a curse.
